My entry for EtsyMom Team’s Color Palatte Challenge!
I’m super pleased with how it turned out. You can find my listing for it here or browse the rest of my listings in my shop.
I spent an hour yesterday stitching pockets for my next set of dresses, inspired by a new one I’m working on for Liv. I’ll not only be listing them in my shop but I’m participating in a craft show at the end of November. Local friends come check it out at the Lewiston Public Library, I’ll be posting more information about it in the next few days!
Today I’m snuggling a sick kid (fever was 103.8 last night, poor babe) so I probably won’t get much sewing done, maybe a little fabric cutting. Time to brew another pot of coffee (with Salted Caramel Mocha creamer, it’s the business) and get this girl some chicken soup.
I’ve recently discovered Miss Anna DePew from A Few Threads Loose has taken amazing vintage patterns and updated them, creating .pdf patterns from them. Since the patterns are past their copyright, any clothing made from one of these purchased (not copied – we must support people like Anna who make these amazing patterns available!) can be sold without violating copyrights!
So! That leads me to two things. The first is that if you peek at Anna’s blog, etsy shop, or facebook pages (here and here) you’ll get a little preview of what I have coming in the Punk Rock expansion!! Secondly, Anna is hosting a giveaway on her blog while she is here in the States. I’ve purchased four of her patterns and love them! Check out her blog for a chance to win one, and browse through all the cool things she has to offer!
Lately I’ve been thinking about expanding PRPT. Not in the sense that I’ll have more time or resources available (ha!), moreso in finding a niche that is a little more focused and organized. So while I’ll still make all the toddler dresses, aprons, women’s clothes, and whatever else strikes my fancy (bookmarks, coasters, bloomers, oh my!) in my Punk Rock Pigtails store, I’ll be starting a new line of handmade creations! I’ll be creating a secondary store but keeping with the Punk Rock theme. This is still in the development phase so I won’t say too much just yet, but here is a little preview!
I am just not a natural blogger. Life gets in the way quite often! Typically in the way of an adorable *almost* three year old so I certainly can’t complain!
Anyhow, I have been working on a number of cool new things and ideas, including a toddler romper with ruffles, a gorgeous and simple woman’s pinafore dress, and potentially a new line (of delicates! Stay tuned…)!
Remember a little while back about adding bloomers to the as sets of 4-6? Well they’re here! I can take size orders if you see something you like (0-12mos & 12-24mos)! I will be offering the follow fabric sets in my shop for $25-35 depending on the number of bloomers in the set.
I’m very excited about these, they’re so much fun to make! I’m also taking custom holiday orders, let me know if you’re interested!
So I’ve been thinking a lot about the niche of punkrockpigtails… I love making a variety of things and don’t want to limit what I create in any way. And I’d also like people to stay interested! In the coming weeks, look for some items that really exemplify what I love about creating my own things: modern rockabilly style with a little retro chic! I’ll keep making things for all ages; aprons and clothes that are a little unique and alternative!
Also! I’m finally making something for myself!! A rockin’ apron to match my new kitchen! Pictures to come!
I’ve been working away this week on a pretty cool new project. It is still in the early stages so I don’t want to give away too much information yet, but I’m pretty stoked about it.
More updates to come VERY soon! Until then I’ll be working away in my sewing room, while Miss O dances around behind me (it’s a very adorable tornado effect)!
I do have a new dress in the so please check it out!
