I have told myself a million times I’d be better about blogging. I do lots of stuff that I mean to write about, but the interwebs have a way of sucking me in and then I get nothing done.
Anyway, Liv is currently having a small tantrum on top of me. World class parenting right here. Actually she was SUPER Daddy’s girl yesterday (seriously, I was only in favor when she discovered I’d hidden some peanut butter cups in the freezer) and Josh worked all day today. It’s 8:30pm and he’s on the way home but still, long day for all. Currently she is upset with me because she wants to “hide under your back mama!” and I have no idea what that means.
This week I worked on a car-seat cover for my friend Jamie from Intuitive Encounters which has been lots of fun. I just finished up cutting a blanket cover with snuggly fleece and all that for the seat, which I’ll finish up tomorrow.
I also have a million things to do before my first craft show at the end of the month. I’ll be posting about it late, but check out Neighborhood Handmade for now!
Oh and I finished this just in time!
Not only did I sew the Scooby stuff on, but I took it upon myself to create the hoodie and pants from fleece myself as well. Thankfully fleece is a bit forgiving as Halloween completely surprised me this year! Tomorrow she gets to wear her costume again to a birthday party, and I’ve also planned to finish a few other projects and do some housework as well as some writing… there just aren’t enough hours in the day!
I’ve recently discovered Miss Anna DePew from A Few Threads Loose has taken amazing vintage patterns and updated them, creating .pdf patterns from them. Since the patterns are past their copyright, any clothing made from one of these purchased (not copied – we must support people like Anna who make these amazing patterns available!) can be sold without violating copyrights!
So! That leads me to two things. The first is that if you peek at Anna’s blog, etsy shop, or facebook pages (here and here) you’ll get a little preview of what I have coming in the Punk Rock expansion!! Secondly, Anna is hosting a giveaway on her blog while she is here in the States. I’ve purchased four of her patterns and love them! Check out her blog for a chance to win one, and browse through all the cool things she has to offer!
Lately I’ve been thinking about expanding PRPT. Not in the sense that I’ll have more time or resources available (ha!), moreso in finding a niche that is a little more focused and organized. So while I’ll still make all the toddler dresses, aprons, women’s clothes, and whatever else strikes my fancy (bookmarks, coasters, bloomers, oh my!) in my Punk Rock Pigtails store, I’ll be starting a new line of handmade creations! I’ll be creating a secondary store but keeping with the Punk Rock theme. This is still in the development phase so I won’t say too much just yet, but here is a little preview!
I am just not a natural blogger. Life gets in the way quite often! Typically in the way of an adorable *almost* three year old so I certainly can’t complain!
Anyhow, I have been working on a number of cool new things and ideas, including a toddler romper with ruffles, a gorgeous and simple woman’s pinafore dress, and potentially a new line (of delicates! Stay tuned…)!
I’ve been busy lately! I’ve gotten a number of requests for aprons, so that’s what I’ve been focusing on lately. I’m switching between computers right now so no pictures to post at the moment, though there are some new ones up on my facebook page!
I sent out the awesome blue and gray toddler dress yesterday, and am sending out an apron on Monday in this incredible orange and cream fabric. I’ve got some super cute mama and daughter aprons that are nearly finished! After that I’ve got four more aprons and another toddler dress to make. Oy. Sorry etsy shop, you’ve been neglected lately!
My poor little peep has an ear infection, so that has kept me busy as well. I’ve also been asked to start blogging for another larger (already established) blog, so sort of busy getting that started up! So things are good, busy, creative… it’s nap time which means it’s mama’s sewing time!
I was featured on Domestic, But Not Martha’s blog today! She totally rocks, check it out:
